Wario Land Headed For Wii?

Wario\'s Big Return to Platforming?

The Wario Land series enjoyed four classic platforming titles on the Game Boy, Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance. Wario has since become better known for his quirky party games in the Wario Ware franchise. It looks as if a return to form may be in order.

Nintendo of Japan updated its upcoming releases list and is now listing Wario Land Shake as a Wii title releasing July 24th in Japan.

There are no further details on the game at this time.

  1. Whoa, that is (potentially) really good news, as long as it’s true to the series, as opposed to Wario World or Wario Master of Disguise. *fingers crossed*

  2. I am really happy the word “Land” is in the game title, and not “Ware”. Don’t get me wrong I have nothing against those games it’s just I want to see wario return to his platforming roots.

Proper 2d platformer it seems. Good chance it’s being made by Treasure as well.

  4. Where did you hear that Treasure might be involved? In my experience, when Treasure develops a game it has a 50/50 chance of being awesome or just okay.

‘Wario World’ was just okay so I’m not sure I’d want them making another Wario. Then again, Artoon made the average ‘Yoshi Topsy Turvy’ and followed it with the much-improved ‘Yoshi’s Island DS’.

  5. Just a rumour at this point. They announced they were working on two Wii titles a while ago.
