Mirror’s Edge and Banjo Kazooie demos are now available

Before you mention it, yes I am a bit late on this news bit, however a certain LittleBigGame has taken all my free time away. Now available on XBLA and PSN is a demo for Mirror’s Edge, a first person platformer for the 360 and PS3. The demo gives you a tutorial level as well as the first stage from the game. From what I played it is just how I imagined it, a great new game that tries something new and succedes, it’s good to take risks!

Next Up this week is a demo for Banjo Kazooie Nuts and Bolts on the XBLA. This demo is huge, you basicaly have the entire first world to play around it spanning multiple levels. From what I have played, it looks amazing and certainly feels like the classic Banjo we love, except with vehicles…alot of them. Infact I am still trying to decide if I like the vehicles yet and that is something I will likely have to decide come the games release this month.

Banjo Kazooie website gets a nice overhaul

RARE recently updated their Banjo Kazooie Nuts & Bolts website with a nice new look and tons of community features. Everything from developer blogs, a forum, all kinds of info and media and coolest of all they have a “fansite kit” which allows fans of the game access to all types of images and such to make their own sites for the game. Future features include leaderboards and a “photo showroom” to share (I’m guessing) your vehicle creations. What does that mean? maybe there is a way to screen capture your vehicles in game and somehow upload them straight to the website or something.

Get a glimpse of Banjo Kazooie in high definition

Since I cannot embed Gametrailers large, wonderful HD videos, I am simply going to have to link you to their newly posted XBLA Banjo Kazooie trailer in HD form. Bottom line is it looks very pretty, I mean sure you can really see how blocky characters and structures are now, but don’t forget this is an HD N64 game, textures really seem improved however and I can’t wait to play this game. Don’t forget as we previously reported that if you reserve Nuts & Bolts at Gamestop you will get this a full two weeks before it hits XBLA…for free! Not only that, but achievements you unlock in BK will unlock more features in Nuts & Bolts.

Pre-ordering Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts gets you the original for free on XBLA

Not only will BK: Nuts and Bolts only be $40 (confirmed by pre-orders) but if you pre-order the game at participating retailers (most likely places like Gamestop, Best Buy, etc) you will get a free voucher code to download the original Banjo Kazooie on XBLA . Since the code will be able to be used the day Nuts and Bolts comes out, this will give you access to download the original about 2 weeks before it is officialy released for download on XBLA. Sounds like a really great deal to me, I just hope I don’t find myself playing the original more than Nuts and Bolts simply because it is said that certain events that you complete in N&B opens up brand new never before seen content on the original Banjo Kazooie, nice!

A new Banjo-Kazooie video might have leaked Microsofts motion controller

Inbox a newly released video for the upcoming Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts developer commentary by Ken Lobbs revealed this bit of odd info, “So you basically grab with the wrench and then you twist the controller around and it’ll move different things in the game.” really? unless you are one of those people who like to really get into the game by moving your controller around this sounds like a motion controller of some sorts to me. In the image above Kazooie is moving around a controller as seen from the video.

The mystery now is if this proves to be true, how will Microsoft release this motion controller? Redesigned controller, an add on that plugs into the headphone input, or just add it into the controllers without changing a thing on the outside, either way I think we are coming closer and closer to Microsoft’s big reveal (though many have expected this for some time now).

When One Hero Kills Another…Presenting the Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts trailer!

There you have it, folks! The first teaser for Banjo Kazooie 3 (Or Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts). It seems as if the game will nearly entirely revolve around vehicles – building them and using them. The style looks as good in motion as it did in the leaked screens. However, Nintendo fans are up in arms over the fact Banjo blows Mario’s head off at the end of the teaser. Rare once developed for Nintendo until Nintendo sold them off. This seems like a grudging slap in the face. Nonetheless, the game is what’s important. It’s a bit of a 180 from where the series was at previously but it’s probably too soon to jump to conclusions.

However, one can only wonder what happened to the Banjo-of-old style we saw two years ago in this trailer:

Rare’s creative changes or Microsoft’s infiltration in order to have a 360 game that would rival Ratchet & Clank? Time will tell…for another video of more gameplay (with some actual platforming elements) keep reading after the jump!
